What forms of payment do you accept?

Payment can be made by cash, all major credit cards, and HSA or FSA accounts. Payment is due at time of service. 

What is a Tele-therapy virtual visit?

What types of health insurance do you accept?

Dauntless Physical Therapy & Wellness is what is known as a 'cash-based physical therapy' provider and does not currently accept third-party insurance payers. This model often costs LESS to the patient over the course of care!

Under insurance based circumstances, allowable physical therapy services are determined using a complex matrix of codes. This often results in confusing patient bills and unauthorized services.  Cash-based billing eliminates  confusion and allows for clarity in decision making on the part of the patient and their Physical Therapist.  

What is cash-based physical therapy?

In a cash-based treatment model, the Physical Therapist provides the patient with physical therapy services that both parties have determined will help them reach treatment goals most efficiently. The patient pays at the time of service (FSA/HSA account, actual cash, or a credit card), allowing the therapist to focus attention on providing the best possible service. Documentation for evaluations, treatment visits, and progress notes are performed just like any physical therapy practice and comply with all legal requirements. Can my insurance be billed for cash-based physical therapy services?

Most insurance companies, with the exception of Medicare, Medicaid and some HMOs, will provide payment for services received "out of network".  Going out of network means that you can choose to see a physical therapist who is not a participating provider with your insurance company. Many patients choose to receive services out of network in order to see the physical therapist of their choice and often without long wait.

What does it mean to be "Out-of-Network"?

This simply means that Dauntless Physical Therapy and Wellness has not entered into a contract with individual insurance companies to receive reimbursement based on their contracted rates.  There are many insurance companies, each with their own contracted rates and regulations. We believe our energy is best spent working with patients based on your needs and all available types of treatment. It is important to note that in network provider status is not currently based on education, experience, skills, or treatment outcomes, but is often determined by the number of providers in a demographic area.

What do I need to submit my own Out-of-Network claim to my insurance provider?

We make it simple: Dauntless Physical Therapy & Wellness will provide you with an invoice at the time of service, and you may submit that invoice and receipt to your insurance company for reimbursement. The invoice has all of the necessary  information (business name and address, tax ID, national provider identification, license numbers, etc.) as well as the patient’s ICD-10 (diagnosis) and CPT (billing) codes. You may choose to submit bills following each visit, one time per month, or at any other interval, typically up to one year following your treatment visit.

Do I need a doctor’s referral or prescription for physical therapy?

No! Physical Therapists are the doctoral muskuloskeletal experts trained and experienced in diagnosing your pain. If you require care longer than 30 days, we take care of coordinating your care plan with your physician.

Do I need a doctor’s prescription for dry needling?

Yes. In Virginia, a prescription is only needed for dry-needling services. If this treatment type is appropriate for your care plan, we will coordinate directly with your physician for a prescription. If you already have a prescription, let us know!

What is your new patient procedure?

Schedule online or call for an appointment. If you are scheduling tele-therapy services, you will also receive a link for your virtual visit with your appointment confirmation email. For on-site concierge services in a place of business other than your own (gym), you are responsible for coordinating with the facility to bring in an outside therapist.
